Privacy

Good Plays is a small, invite-only site for keeping a record of the games you play. This page explains what it stores about you and why. Last updated 19 October 2026.

What we store

  • Your name and email address, and your password if you set one. The password is stored hashed, never in a form anyone can read.
  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture, and the sign-in tokens Google issues. We don't ask for access to anything else in your Google account.
  • Your library: the games you add, their status, ratings, reviews, notes, started and finished dates and the platform you played on, plus the history of status changes.
  • Your profile: your username, who can see it, who you follow and who follows you.
  • Your settings, such as your platforms and region.
  • For each signed-in session, the IP address and browser it came from, so sessions can be kept secure.

What others can see

Your profile is public unless you change it in Settings. Anyone, including search engines, can see your name, username, games, statuses, ratings, reviews, followers and who you follow. People you're followed by see what you add, play, finish and review in their Friends feed, and your reviews appear on game pages.

You can make your profile visible to signed-in members only, or private, which keeps it to you and leaves you out of search, feeds and game pages. Your notes are never shown to anyone else.

When someone shares a link to your profile, apps show a preview with your picture, name and username, whatever your setting. A public profile's preview also shows how many games you have and what you're playing.

How it's used

Only to run Good Plays: signing you in, showing your library, releases and profile, and sending emails you need, such as verifying your address. We don't sell your data, show ads or use tracking analytics.

The people who run Good Plays can see who has signed up and can open the site as you to help with problems, which shows your library, including your notes.

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and keeps short-lived request logs.
  • Neon hosts the database.
  • Resend sends our emails.
  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.

Game information comes from IGDB, but nothing about you is sent to it.

Good Plays's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account in Settings at any time. That removes your account, profile, library, ratings, reviews, follows and settings. Your invite stays on the invite list so you can come back later; ask us if you'd like it removed too.
